Happenings Lately

According to my life on instagram, life has been full of fun & sweet treats! (as it should be!) Unfortunately we're once again battling another round of sickness & hoping it'll pass quickly.  We were able to have our wonderful new temple dedicated (learn more about LDS temples here) & I have been excited for it to re-open after the open house!  I have some fun projects & posts planned so fingers crossed this cold doesn't turn into more bronchitis!

Striped Cake Stand DIY

I have a super easy & cute DIY cake stand.  Best part? You can customize the colors!

Start with a wooden cake stand (I found mine at Hobby Lobby), paints of your choice & a food safe sealer. (Ask a worker to help you pick the best one)

(Be sure not to run this through the dishwasher or anything crazy!)

This project was part of a "challenge" with some amazing ladies who are talented bloggers for a group theme!  This time around the #CreativeBuzz decided to challenge ourselves with stripes.
I am loving the diversity between all of us- so there's sure to be a project you love here! Hope on over & check out what they created with stripes!
1. Granny Stripe Crocheted Blanket from Sugar Bee Crafts
2. Free Printable "Made with Love" Labels from Do Small Things with Love
3. Striped Gallery Style Photo Board from One Krieger Chick
4. Zebra Cake with Cookies & Cream Frosting from This Silly Girl's Life

Rainbow Tassel Garland

Here's a re-post of a fun St Patricks Day decoration that's too fun not to share again!

This fun & colorful rainbow tassel garland (complete with "clouds") is perfect for any St. Patricks day party or decor to bring in the luck of the Irish!

 How to make your tassels:
1. Lay out 1 sheet of tissue paper.
2. Fold "hamburger" style.
3. Fold it the same way again.
4. And one more time the same way.
5. Now fold in half the other way.
6. Pin the top folded side with 2 clothes pins to help keep things in place and cut the side folds 1 1/2" from the top.
7. Cut/fringe- only up 1 1/2" from the top.
8. Un-fold once, then roll up.
9. Twist tight until it curls up on itself and makes a "loop."
& repeat!
10. String onto ribbon or bakers twine.
