A Fresh New Year

I wanted to wrap up 2016 and look forward to 2017 with this post.  This year seems to have flown by, but then when I look back, so much was packed into it!  We had a great year full of immense blessings, strengthening challenges, and lots of family time.  I think those were my favorite parts, time spent with family on trips or weekends full of laughter and joy.  We've got a few great plans and hopes already for this year, and can't wait to dive right in.
So this year, I plan to work on myself with the typical goals of working out more, staying more organized, cooking more consistently, and trying to stay calm when I get stressed.  I want to set monthly goals to work on throughout the year, and what better to start of January than with a No-Spend goal?!  Aside from necessaries like food and medicine and gas, I'm going to try my best
not to spend on "extras".
Anyone else want to join?! I'm sure it sounds easy for some of you, but for those of us who it doesn't, it'll be a great challenge to start the year after those months of holiday shopping!
Here's to 2017, to a fresh new beginning, new cute calendars, the unknown opportunities & the chance to start over.  I hope you'll stick around to see what fun we can craft this year!

Christmas Wish List 2016

It's about that time! ...Actually pretty sure it's past that time, but better late than never, right?! Here's what I put on my Christmas List this year.  I'll admit, shopping for me has become hard, because whatever I REALLY want, I usually just buy.  But here are some things that I've been needing or wanting for a while now.
1. A new bag! It doesn't even have to be from Fossil...head to TJ Maxx, they've got all the good brands anyway.  But being a Mom, I always try to find one that has handles AND a should strap, can I get an amen from all my mothers out there?!
2. Jeans. I love the best girlfriend fit from GAP in a 4/27 size.
3. Heated Eyelash Curler. Where have I been?! This sounds amazing & like the perfect stocking stuffer for you girlfriend (or yourself!)
4. TomBow Brush Pens. I feel like this one might be obvious from me, right?!
5. Leather Skirt.  Granted, only wearable for 4 months out of the year here in Arizona, but how gorgeous?!  Perfect Fall/Winter skirt for church.
6. A watch. I'm partial to Fossil watches, and if you're not, you should be.  Try their outlet stores if you're near one, totally worth the price!

Test Tube Slime with Printable

All the fun (for the kids) and hardly any work! Use them for favors, in place of trick or treat candy,
or as part of your BOO basket for your friends!
I grabbed these fun test tubes from the Target "dollar" section, and the slime is from over in their actual Halloween section.  I needed about 1 and a half of the slime to fill up these tubes.

Once you wiggle your slime into your tubes, make sure those corks are on nice and tight.
Either print the labels on sticker sheet or use a little bit of glue to spread a thin layer on the back and stick onto those tubes.  Be sure to get all those bubbles out.

If you want to add a little something to the tubes, try washi tape on the top or a little bakers twine wrapped around the cork. If you're using them as favors, it'd be the perfect way to attach a tag.

Save the printable below and get ready to slime!

BOO Felt Hanging Banner

A Halloween felt banner? Could 3 words go together more perfectly?! It's easier than you think, and makes a great addition inside, or hung in place of a wreath on your front door.  And since it's officially Fall, it's perfectly acceptable for me to start sharing Halloween posts now, enjoy!
 Gather your supplies:
A dowel, felt in your colors choice, adhesive felt in a contrasting color, twine, &
optional 2 felt balls for added cuteness.
To use the letters I did, make sure you're cutting your banner edge landscape so it's wide enough.
After you've cut your dowel to the right size, tie your bakers twine on either side.  This is also the time to tie on those felt balls if you're using them

Carefully glue a straight line on your felt and press your dowel onto it. Set it aside and start working on your letters! I like doing the banner first, so I know exactly where I need my letters.
Similar to the Felt Pennants tutorial, trace your letters onto the BACK (paper side) of your
adhesive felt.  Make sure that B is backwards!

Once you've decided on your placement, carefully remove the paper backing and apply your letters.
You did it! So easy, the hardest part may be deciding where to hang it now!

And of course, you could always flip the color scheme & make the banner white and the letters black, or throw in some color! Have a spooktacular time with it! No...ew...I actually hate that saying.  Despise it. It's makes me twitch for some reason.  Just go make a BOO banner, k?
Save the image below to use the letters for your own sign!
