SNICKERS GameDay Treat Recipe

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #BigGameTreats #CollectiveBias

With the playoffs finished, the big game is fast approaching. I was raised on football and always love watching it no matter who's playing in the big game, but I'm an even bigger fan of the delicious snacks and treats that come along with it! Today I'm sharing a fun, easy and festive recipe perfect for you to whip up for your friends or family while you watch!

I went to Walmart to grab the few items I needed for this delicious treat and few more snacks to have on hand, like Skittles® and Starburst®!

Ingredients: 1 bag of fun size SNICKERS® (6-9 unwrapped & diced)
1 box of instant cheesecake mix
mini graham cracker crusts

Dice SNICKERS & prepare cheesecake according to instructions on package. (Mine just needed some milk added into it.)

Stir in SNICKERS and mix well.

Fill crusts and let sit in fridge until solid.

To add some extra football flair, use chocolate syrup and pipe lines to mimic a football.

Enjoy that delicious SNICKERS cheesecake!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Am I the only who felt like December was super busy and FLEW by?! I always get so sad putting Christmas decorations away...I felt like I had just put them up! But it was a good kind of busy, fun, full of family and activities and memory making and Christams-y things.

We spent our Christmas in San Diego and it had been a few years since I was there ON Christmas, and it was even more magical being there for Christmas with a child. We spent Christmas Eve morning riding bikes right by the ocean and spending every minute with family, extended family and more family. I absolutely loved it.

New Years Eve I got to go to the Fiesta Bowl & watch one of my 2 college teams (U of A) play....and lose. Fun Fact: The only other time I went to the Fiesta Bowl was years ago to watch my OTHER (and #1) college team play- Notre Dame...who also lost. And so 2014 went and 2015 kind of passed by, literally, we were watching a movie and I looked at my phone about 4 minutes after the fact. Happy New Year!!

My "Secret Weapon" for Holiday Cleaning

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone.#CleanForTheHolidays #CollectiveBias
So now that it's "officially" Christmas-time (now that it's December), let's talk cleaning. I feel like the 2 biggest cleaning times of the year are spring time & the holidays when friends and family are always stopping by.  And really- we're stressed enough about all the other holiday things why add to the stress of cleaning our homes?! I love trying new cleaning products and was so excited to swing by Walmart and grab the new O-Cedar Pro Mist for cleaning my floor.
All of our downstairs is tiled, and while I love it with a toddler, sometimes getting it all clean and keeping it clean gets hard.  I was currently using a different brand of wet mop and was pretty satisfied with it.

But what I loved about the O-Cedar Pro Mist before even using it was that the micro-fiber cleaning pads were washable & therefore re-usable (saving money) and you can use your own cleaning products (also saving money). And seriously guys, those 2 things make all the difference for me.

So I used it, and I love it.  The pad cleans better than my last mop and it is so simple and easy to use!  I love being able to pull it out right before guests come over, fill up the container, spray the cleaning solution straight from the mop and clean my floor start to finish in about 10 minutes with hardly any effort.

This is definitely my new favorite cleaning "weapon" this holiday season because it is so easy & simple & money-saving!  And really, those 3 things are like hitting the jackpot around the holidays.

2 Favorite Thanksgiving Recipes

(Almost) every year I'm in charge of one of the two...or sometimes both of the two things for Thanksgiving. Sweet Potatoes & made-from-scratch rolls. And every year they never disappoint the crowd.  Super last minute I decided to share them, in case you're need of a new amazing recipe for either. I hope you all have an amazing Thanksgiving where ever you are and who ever you are with and give thanks for the blessings in your life! Happy Thanksgiving!

Sweet Potatoes

  • 11/2 lb. sweet potatoes (pealed, boiled, drained & mashed)
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 Tbls. melted butter
Topping:

  • 3/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
Preheat oven to 350. In mixing bowl beat eggs, then add milk, sugar, vanilla, and butter. Mix thoroughly. Add egg mixture to sweet potatoes and mix thoroughly. Place sweet potato mixture in 2 quart casserole that has been coated with nonstick spray. Set aside.
Place pecans, flour, cinnamon, and brown sugar in bowl. Mix. Drizzle melted butter over mixture and stir until crumbly. Spread topping evenly over sweet potatoes. Bake for about 30 minutes.

The best ever rolls I've ever made...or will ever make are from Chef in Training

INGREDIENTS
Mixture 1
  • ½ cup Warm Water
  • 4 packages yeast
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
Mixture 2
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter
Remaining ingredients
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 7-9 cups flour
  1. Stir to combine Mixture 1.  Let it sit until yeast is activated and happy.
  2. Meanwhile, heat Mixture 2 over medium heat until melted.  Let it cool until just warm.
  3. In Bosch or other bread dough mixer add beaten eggs, Mixture 2 and 4-5 additional cups of flour. You want the consistency at this point to be a pancake consistency. Once pancake consistency is reached, add Mixture 1. Mix in well and then add additional flour cup by cup until bread dough consistency is reached.
  4. Let dough rise for 1 hour.  After an hour, punch down and let sit for an additional 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, punch down again.
  5. Divide dough in half. Roll into a flat circle about 10-12 inches in diameter (like a pizza).
  6. Brush the top with butter.
  7. Cut like a pizza into 8 slices.
  8. Roll each section into a croissant, starting with the thickest part and rolling inward to the thinest point.
  9. Place close together on a greased cookie sheet.
  10. Repeat for other half of the dough.
  11. Cover dough on cookie sheets and let rise until double in size.
  12. Bake at 375 degrees F for about 15 minutes.
  13. Remove from oven and brush with butter.
