Confetti Egg Gift

I feel like almost every post I mention how fast time is flying...is that just something that happens the older you get?! Okay so Easter. Easter is THIS Sunday!  I am a big believer that it's never to late to craft, decorate or celebrate a holiday.  So here's a fun idea to spread the Easter fun around!
Pick up a pack of confetti eggs at the dollar store or Walmart also has them for $1 too. I grabbed a pack of these blank egg cartons from Hobby Lobby because I knew I'd find something to do with them. So HAH! A little of that paper "grass", glue, twine & some cute paper.
Start by tracing the top of your egg carton on the paper & cut it out.
Glue it down, be sure not to use too much so you avoid bubbles.
Optional: take a pen or a tag and write "Hip, Hop, Smash" on the paper once it's dry.
Now to fill it up! Take just a little bit of that grass and press it in real good.  Putting too much in will make the container too thick and you won't be able to close it.
One of my favorite things about buying these confetti eggs is the difference of colors.  Aaaand a close second is that fact that I didn't have to make them!
Wrap around that twine! I used light blue, yellow and pink and wrapped it 3 times.  (If your carton had trouble closing because of the grass, just tie that twine super tight!)
How cute is that?! For extra bonus points, deliver that to a neighbor, friend or surprise family!

Metallic Easter Egg DIY

A few days ago I shared the above picture on Instagram (@katiecarranza), and if you're a fellow procrasinator like me, this tutorial is for you! These eggs (or eggies as my 3 year old calls them), are made by applying metallic temporary tattoos. So easy and fun to group together. My tattoos were found at the 99cent store of all places! (I have a budding love affair with that place). Here's a quick, picture by picture video tutorial for you! Make sure you're gentle and careful when remove the paper, and use your fingers and wet paper towel to smooth it out.  Now go cur-a-zay!

Happy Easter

Happy, Happy Easter my friends!  I hope you all have a lovely day and celebration & for those of you who do not celebrate- I hope you have a relaxing weekend!

I want to take advantage of this platform I have and share 2 videos with you- both beautifully illustrate the Savior's crucifixion and resurrection.   I am so grateful and indebted to Jesus Christ and his ultimate sacrifice for me.  When I think about his suffering and agony and all that He endured, how can I not strive everyday to be more like Him- the most perfect example to us? I know He lives & I know that I will one day be able to be resurrected and rejoin my Father in Heaven if I live a worthy life.  I am grateful for the knowledge that I have through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, that Jesus IS the Christ and died that all men might live.  Please visit mormon.org or email me directly if you have any questions about what I believe.
Have a Happy Easter!

Egg Dying Party // Free Printables

Last year I shared this egg-dying party over at Sugar Bee Crafts as party contributor.  I'm dusting it off to share with you so you can have a fun & easy egg dying party of your own!

To start I covered the table in a bright plastic tablecloth topped with a kraft paper runner that I sponged white polka-dots onto.  I laid out some fake grass, plastic eggs & a simple center piece.

I included large colored spoons to scoop out eggs with & then put the dyes in plastic cups with kraft labels for easy identification.

Each place setting had a yellow paper plate lined with a paper towel I cut to fit, topped with a personalized egg carton.

For favors I dipped some peeps in white chocolate & sprinkles, placed them in a plastic treat bagged tied with bakers twine & a tag I made that says, "thanks for an egg-cellent party!" Download them here!

Don't be intimidated by the word "party"- this is just a fun was to gather your kids' friends (or have an adult party!) and enjoy dying eggs together!

Around Here Lately...

We've been quite busy around here...

This little one started crawling.

& we switched him to bottles due to his new cute chompers.

We visited family.

We went to the zoo.

We're getting ready for Spring.

But I am currently sick & have been for the past week. So I am resting, cuddling my favorite boys & brainstorming some awesome Easter/Spring crafts.

Hope to be back soon!  Enjoy your weekend!
